Thank you for considering adopting a rescue animal. By adopting a shelter pet you are saving the lives of two animals, the one you adopt and the one who takes his or her place at the shelter.
Step One: Find the right dog or cat
Browse our animals online and come to our shelter to meet them in person. We want to help you find the perfect match!
Step Two: Fill out an application
When you complete the application please be honest about your history and your household. It’s important for the health and safety of both the animal and your family. Adopters must be at least 18 years old to adopt a cat or dog. Adopters who rent their home must have landlord approval in order to adopt.
The application will open in a new window, please download, complete, and return.
Once your application is reviewed and approved we ask that you pay the non-refundable adoption fee for your pet. If you need more time to make your decision we offer a $10 hold. This will hold the animal for 24 hours. If you change your mind this becomes a donation, if you proceed with the adoption this will come off of the adoption fees.
All animals in our shelter over 6 months of age go home spayed or neutered. If you are adopting a kitten or puppy under 6 months of age you will go home with a signed spay neuter contract stating that you are responsible for having the animal altered within 30 days of the animal turning 6 months old. We are connected to several low cost centers that we can help refer you to. Most pets are already spayed or neutered and will be ready to go home with the approved application and fee.
Make sure your new pet fits in well with your family and lifestyle.
Step Four: Congratulations! You are the new mom or dad to a fur-baby!
