The Clinton Humane Society has made a commitment to save every healthy, behaviorally sound pet who comes through our doors and do our best to never euthanize a pet because of lack of space. Because of this commitment, there may times during the year when we are unable to accept every pet immediately due to space limitations. When this occurs, we will schedule an appointment for the next available opening or do our best to help owners find alternative solutions.
If you need to surrender a pet, please call our shelter at (563) 242-2457 to start the process. We will inform you of the wait time, usually between two to three weeks. We ask that you be honest with us about your situation and the history of the animal. This helps us give the best care at our facility. There is a mandatory $50 fee for surrendering a pet. This helps us pay for food, shelter, and any veterinary services until we can find your pet a new forever home.
